Limpet Shell

Limpet Shell

A spiral on the shore I found,
Smooth and worn by waves around.
Nature's art in a simple form,
A treasure from the sea, now warm.

A home it was, for something small,
That clung to rocks, through rise and fall.
Of tide that thrown and tide that flowed,
And in its sanctuary, safely stowed.

But now it's empty, void of life,
A vessel free of all its strife.
The spiral of tale just to show,
Of nature's beauty, from ocean's flow.

I've picked this item, from the beach,
To write this poem, for words to reach.
I hope these verses show each part,
One of nature's works of art.
